1v1 Tourny
Ok, well, as you can see, my guild is having a 1v1 Tournament, and I've gotten a few builds together. I would like you guys to please rate them/suggest ideas, it is really appreciated!
I had 4th place in the last Tourny out of about 40 people, and I revised my builds this time! Please comment on them! The first one is the one that Ive won against 80% of the people without blocking stances and about 50% of the people with blocking stances!
Assassin/Warrior
Wastrels Collapse
Frenzy
Unsuspecting Strike
Fox Strike (something like that)
Bull Strike (It knocks them down with no adjacent allies)
Falling Lotus STrike
Twisting Fangs
Dash (I find this one of the best skills in the game, stance cancel, projectile evasion, and kiting, I've learned to master it, and most likely will have it in most of my builds with a/x or x/a)
Assassin/Monk
Signet of Judgement
Deadly Paradox
Augury of Death
Dancing Daggers
Entangling Asp
SIgnet of Toxic Shock
Iron Palm
Disrupting Dagge
(No dash here, i find DD better choice in this situation)
Assassin/x
(This is against blockers, with decent defense!)
Golden Fox Strike
Wild STrike
SHattering Assault
Impale
Dash
Assassins Remedy
Critical Defenses
(this one served me well last tourny)
Assassin/warrior
YAA
Frenz
Unsuspecting strike
Lotus Strike
Trampling Ox
falling SPider
Twisting Fangs
Dash
Ranger/Assasin
Deaths Charge
STrike as one
SOme good starter thing
Jungle STrike
Trampling Ox
Falling SPider-man
Blades of teh STeel
Charm ANimal
I might have more coming up, but these are good ATM

If it's 1v1, shouldn't you have lots of self-healing? I remember I 1v1'd my friend and he used some gay build like [Weapon of Remedy][vengeful weapon] and other gay stuff that would own any builds like this.

Pretty sure you're thinking of [[Horns of the Ox] there.

yes that skill, and no mesmers allowed in the battle, because well you know nor is weapon of remedy allowed, I dont know guild leader makes rules, and im thinking of horns of ox thanks for correction.
my style for 1v1 is kill them ASAP, and it works well against most people w/o blocking stances if i got no blocking,

Do not play Assassin / Warrior, any good player will wipe the floor with you! That's because it is at once obvious that you are going to be melee, and there are so many anti-melee defenses someone can bring. Here is for example the options available to an Elementalist (which is most of my 1v1 experience).
1. Block. Shield Bash > anything Assassins can bring.
2. Blind. Assassins only really have one counter here, that is Assassin's Remedy. Signet of Malice + YAA! might work as well, but I've only seen that once.
3. Snare. A/W's have no anti-hexes. Once snared it's over.
4. Run away. If you have a speedboost and the Assassin does not, it's game over too.
So if I as an Elementalist plays you on A/W, pretty much regardless of what you have I will bring Shield Bash, go Water with Icy Shackles + Glyph of Immolation + Steam and obliterate you. And there's nothing you can do about it. A/W's can't do anything about hexes, nor can they penetrate Shield Bash, nor do they have strong self-heal.
Against A/Mo's things are different, because now they might be Assassins with Daggers and Holy Veil + Mending Touch ... or they might be Assacasters. This time I will bring Balanced Stance (most Sin chains have KDs while Assacasters are entirely reliant on KDs). Either Water or Air. If Water, definitely bring Rust (deals damage, knocks out SoJ / Signet of Toxic Shock if it's an assacaster). If Air, definitely bring some source of Blind. In either case if there is room I will bring Shield Bash, just in case.
I think this assortment of Elementalist builds will wipe out all four of your primary Assassins. Your builds are simply too predictable, although to be honest if you placed fourth in a tournament of 40 players your opponents can't be too good, so it shouldn't matter.
As for Rangers ... Ranger / Assassins are physical characters, but what they run will be unpredictable. They might have Antidote Signet for Blind, they might have BHA + Shadow Walk / Death's Charge for Dazed. No guarantees. If I play one of these, I'll probably rely on hexes to minimize his DPS since they won't have any anti-hexes either - perhaps Blurred Vision, Lyssa's Aura / Ether Prism, Ether Feast, a block stance (Distortion), and a variety of degen-causing spells.
EDIT: It is probably possible to kill the Icy Shackles Elementalist I posted above with an A/W assacaster. That just goes to show you can't beat everything in a 1v1 ... but it also means you have to run something weird, because all assacasters are A/Mo or A/Me. It also means it might be better to run Shatterstone + a different snare (probably Freezing Gust), or to simply ignore the snares and run Blurred Vision.

RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO thissssssssssss.
I used to spend all my time in another RPG doing 1v1, and we had an honor system about no healing, no excessively cheap spells etc (that game had a spell which would knock someone down for 5 minutes).
So basically because an assacaster or necro who just casts weaken knees and runs can beat most other classes , that makes it a 1v1 ?????
If you bring signet of judgement or wastrel's collapse you're a pussy
These are zero honor ganking builds.
